Melanie & Kevin's Olive Grove Wedding in Sonoma

Melanie and Kevin wanted a wedding that felt like a very long dinner with everyone they love. No stage, no dance floor spotlight — just a grove, a table and hours.
The venue decision
They chose a private olive ranch outside Glen Ellen, a raw-land property that required tenting, restrooms and generators. It cost more to produce and it was the right call: the grove is the entire design.
Design
Olive, bone and warm brass. Beeswax tapers in low glass, linen runners, and vessels of dahlias grown eleven miles away. Nothing above eye level so conversation ran the length of the table.
What we would tell another couple
Their smartest decision was investing in comfort — fans at cocktail hour, blankets after dark, and a shuttle that ran every twenty minutes. Nobody left before the last song.
